Our community has been abuzz with talented residents putting the finishing touches on their creations.
The show features high-quality merchandise, from artwork and handicrafts, in a wide variety of price ranges. Holiday themed items as well as home décor, jewelry and quilted items will be available.
Among the featured artists is long-time quilter Barbara Antczak (pictured above) who also is an instructor of the Houston Springs quilters. Barbara’s creations are contemporary quilted tote bags and holiday-inspired, embellished sweatshirt jackets.
Artist Joyce Hamilton (pictured below) who specializes in folk art painting will be displaying and selling her holiday themed Christmas ball ornaments starting from $6 each as well as wood woven baskets with painted lids. Beaded earrings by Mary Seagrave also will be available.
"This is our second year for this event and we hope to make it an annual event," said event organizer and Houston Springs resident Jean Kahn. "There will be a variety of crafts from quilting to jewelry to painted woodwork and decorative gourds as well as art work. We'll also have Christmas related items including wreaths, decorations and miniature trees. One of the Houston Springs clubs will even be selling baked goods."
Many Houston Springs residents are discovering their talents now that they have moved to the community and can join with others to share crafting ideas and tips.
The community’s activity calendar offers classes for beginners and many of the residents volunteer as instructors.
The Houston Springs Arts & Craft Show and Sale is a perfect opportunity to early holiday shopping for one-of- a-kind creations.
